about the counsellor
I am a graduate of an accredited psychodynamic* counselling course at the University of Cambridge, and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), as well as a member of the Cambridgeshire Consultancy in Counselling (CCC).
I have varied experience working as a counsellor:
• at a GP practice
• within the outpatient department of a mental health trust
• at a university counselling service
• and in private practice
In addition to acknowledging that a sound theoretical training is of the utmost importance, I believe a good working alliance between client and counsellor is essential in order to create an atmosphere of trust in which a client’s insight and growth become possible. I offer a comfortable environment in which clients feel free to be themselves and where they feel listened to without criticism or judgment.
I offer short, focused counselling, or counselling of a more open-ended nature.
The focus and type of counselling will be discussed during an initial session. |
